Biography

Lee Min-Ho was born in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, South Korea on June 22, 1987. His family consists of his mother, father, and one older sister. As a young child, Lee Min-Ho hoped to become a football (soccer) player, but an injury in the 5th grade of elementary school ended those dreams. However, Lee Min-Ho still keeps up with football and mentions Nal-do Ho as his favorite player.

In the 2nd year of his high school career, Lee Min-Ho turned his attention to acting. By the time of Lee Min-Ho's senior year in high school he joined Starhaus Entertainment with the help of an acquaintance. After going through training, Min-ho started auditioning for roles and landed smaller roles in several television dramas. His major breakthough came with Min-ho landing the lead role in the KBS2 drama "Boys Over Flowers" as Ku Jun-pyo. The television series became immensely popular and regularly received ratings of over 30% in South Korea. Lee Min-Ho is currently majoring in Film & Art at Konkuk University.

In 2011 Lee Min-Ho starred in popular drama series "City Hunter." The drama was based off a Japanese manga by Tsukasa Hojo. His co-star in the drama was Park Min-Young. They knew each other for about for 5 years having previously worked together in the KBS2 2007 drama I am Sam. According to management agencies for Lee Min-Ho and Park Min-Young they developed feelings for each other while filming City Hunter. After the completion of "City Hunter" the couple dated more seriously and were involved as couple.[1]

  1. Lee Min-Ho will release a special album for his fans in May, 2013. He will then begin a world tour that will take place in South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines from late May, 2013 through July, 2013.

Lee Min Ho is a South Korean actor who is known for his leading roles in television dramas such as Boys Over Flowers, City Hunter and Heirs. He started his career in 2006 and since then has been cast in various TV shows, short dramas and minor movie roles. He first gained widespread fame with his role as Gu Jun Pyo in Boys Over Flowers in 2009. Yook Sung-jae is a South Korean actor, singer and host of television shows. He is famous for being a member of the popular K-pop group, BtoB and its subgroup known as BtoB Blue. Yook Sung-jae first came to limelight in 2012, when he debuted as a vocalist for BtoB. He then went on to star in a television drama titled ‘Reply 1994’. In 2014, he became one of the hosts for a music variety program, ‘A Song for You’.   • Yook Sung-jae was born on 2nd of May 1995 in Yongin, Gyeonggi, South Korea. His father Yook Young-sung is the CEO of a company which handles semiconductors. Not much is known about Yook Sung-jae’s childhood, apart from the fact that he was raised by his parents along with his elder sister.

  • He attended two different schools, just for a month each in the Philippines and England. He was then enrolled at the Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul. Career

  • In 2012, he was a co-host in the SBS South Korean music television program, ‘The Show’ which was a massive hit. On March 21, 2012, he made his official debut with the BtoB band by contributing with the songs ‘Insane’ and ‘Imagine’. He then went on to perform as the lead artist for the band. The songs that he delivered as the lead artist include, ‘That Day Long Ago’, ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Paradise’.

  • In 2013, he appeared in the role of a K-pop guy named Arnold in the television series ‘Monstar’. This drama is about how a group of teenagers heal themselves through the power of music. In the same year, he featured in the television drama series ‘The Heirs’ as himself. This trendy drama is set in a high school which is populated with uber-rich and privileged. The show was a major hit in South Korea. It also gained immense popularity across Asia. Before the end of 2013, he essayed the role of Sung Joom in Korea’s highest rated television drama ever, ‘Reply 1994’.

  • Then in 2014, he performed as a cast member in the variety show ‘Real Men’ for episodes 77-88. In this program, eight male celebrities are shown experiencing the life of military men. In Korea, every man must experience this lifestyle for two years, something which is mandatory over there.

  • In the same year, he appeared in the television drama ‘Plus Nine Boys’ and in this romantic comedy, he plays one of the four main characters. These characters confront different challenges at work and in love life on the cusp of a new decade of their lives. He got his first major acting role in this series, playing the role of a 19-year-old judo athlete.

  • Yook’s next breakthrough was the teenage drama ‘Who Are You: School 2015’. He also released an OST for the show ‘Love Song’ with Park Hye-soo. After the series ended, he experienced a rise in popularity and went on to finalize many endorsements deals.

  • Next, he played a major role in the television drama ‘The Village: Achiara’s Secret’ in the year 2015. In 2016, he performed as Yoo Deok-hwa and this role earned him critical acclaim and he became a phenomenon in South Korea.

  • He once again received a positive feedback for his performance as Tired Bumblebee in ‘King of Mask Singer’, a South Korean singing competition which is aired on television.

  • He was one of the contestants along with Seo Eun-Kwang and Lee Chang-sub in the 16th episode of the famous television program, ‘The Battletrip’. This program is a competition between two groups of celebrities, who travel based on specific topics. During their travel, they share their experiences and give some amazing tips for potential travellers. The winner is chosen based on 100 votes from the audience.

  • In 2017, he took part in the television variety program ‘Celebrity Bromance’ which portrays star friendships. The show is filmed from a distance, just like how the paparazzi does, to make sure the cast members aren’t affected too much by the presence of cameras.

  • Yook is now one of the contestants of the documentary show titled ‘Law of the Jungle’ in which celebrities travel to forest like places to survive on their own and experience life with the local tribes. The show is shot in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Childhood & Early Life

  • Lee Jong-suk was born on 14th September 1989, in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, to mother Lui and father Kim Jong- suk. His father had an accident when Lee was just three, and never fully recovered from his injuries. This caused a lot of trauma to the little boy. He didn’t communicate with people much, and used to be an introvert till he graduated from high school.

Career

  • In 2005, Lee Jong-suk began his modeling career at the age of 15. He became the youngest male model to debut at the Seoul Collection walkway at Seoul Collection program for Seoul Fashion Week. He has walked in several fashion shows since then. He made his acting debut after a few years in the South Korean TV series 'Prosecutor Princess' which aired in 2010.

  • The same year, Lee also made his movie debut in 'Ghost' a horror movie. He came to popularity after playing the role of a musical genius in the 2010 South Korean television drama 'Secret Garden'. The show was a huge hit.

Directed by Lee Min-hong and Lee Eung-bok, the series focused on problems faced by South Korean youths such as bullying, school violence, and suicides. Lee played an important role in the series, for which he earned his first acting award. The show was a success and won multiple awards. It was also broadcast in Japan and Thailand.

  • ‘Pinocchio’ a South Korean TV series that aired from 2014 can be regarded as one of the most important works in Lee Jong-suk’s acting career. The show, which starred Lee in the lead role, was directed by Jo Soo-won and Shin Seung-woo. The series was a success, and was broadcast in several countries such as China, Japan, US, and Israel. The show won numerous awards as well.

  • Another one of Lee’s most recent and significant works is the 2017 South Korean thriller film ‘VIP’. The movie was directed by Park Hoon-jung. It revolves around a youth who is suspected of committing murders all around the world, and is therefore pursued by the Interpol. The movie earned criticism for its extreme violence, especially against women.

  • Lee Jong-suk has received numerous awards throughout his career. He won the ‘SBS Drama Award’ and ‘Style Icon Award’ for his role in ‘I Can Hear Your Voice’ in 2013.

  • Lee Jong-suk was rumored to be dating Park Shin Hye, a popular South Korean actress and singer. However, they denied the rumours and said that they were only friends.
